I painted again today… and finished a small piece.  (yay!)  I’m quite pleased with myself.  (yay!!)  Since I haven’t taken a pic of the new piece yet, I’ll show a pic of an older one.  This is the painting that got me thinking about pursuing art as a real career and not just a hobby.

It’s based loosely off a random photo of Orcas Island, one of the islands in the San Juan Island family.  What’s funny is going back to look at that picture, my painting really doesn’t resemble it much…and I’m glad.  I actually like it better.  A friend of mine said I “captured the island perfectly.”  (yay!)

So this is where it started… and I’m excited to see what is to come.
